SAFE files elearning courses

How time flies, it has been 2 years since we launched the SAFE Files elearning courses.

It is considered essential from a practical and legal viewpoint to do a refresher course on these important subjects as the knowledge learnt in the original course fades over time and the information provided may alter due to changes in legislation or community standards. Best practice is to have this refresher after two years and accordingly this is what MEGT has decided to do.

Staff who completed the SAFE Files elearning courses in September 2014 are now due for re-enrolment and will receive an email from MEGT Learning and Development advising that they have been enrolled in the SAFE Files courses.

This year MEGT would like to ensure all staff have the best possible opportunity to enjoy the festivities, and reduce the likelihood of anyone being unable to attend.

As such, line managers of each department/team will be allocated a budget, giving each team the opportunity to organise their own Christmas event.

Important information:
  • The date and time of celebrations are to be decided by the department/team but must be outside of normal business hours or within an allocated lunch break time.
  • There will not be a Melbourne metro Christmas party as has been in previous years, however divisions and teams are more than welcome to come together and organise a joint celebration.
The final day of work for 2016 will be Friday 23 December. All staff will be required to work until 3pm on this day unless leave has been arranged prior.

In addition, all permanent MEGT staff will take the three days off between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day without deduction from Annual Leave. This is a gift from MEGT and is in recognition of the contribution and out of hours work staff perform.

This year the Christmas Closedown dates are Wednesday, 28 December 2016 to Friday, 30 December 2016. Staff will be required to return to work on Tuesday, 3 January 2017.

If you have any questions, please speak to your line manager directly.
